About the artist: Joyce S. Lesikar, a 70 plus year old Grandma which has been drawing and painting since childhood. Taking as many art classes as possible over the years. In 1984 after her children were all grown she decided to take her art serious and went to Victoria College to take more art classes with Instructor Mr. Larry Shook (Well known local artist). There she took graphite drawing along with pen and ink which was an excellent way to learn perspective! From there she gravitated into her favorite medium of oil painting. Constantly building on her skills though workshops and books. She now says after many years of painting, "experience has been my best teacher". Her style is certainly detailed artwork, her favorite is oils as a medium because she feels it's more forgiving.

Her artwork has received numerous awards over the years and has been displayed and sold in several community galleries.

Creating art is what she truly loves.
